 About Bitterroot Anglers

We are the Bitterroot Valley's premier fly-fishing outfitter and full service fly-fishing shop.  Claudette and Andy Carlson have been a team for 18 years, growing the business of fly-fishing in Western Montana year after year.

Bitterroot Anglers is a fly-fishing shop owned and run by two people who love to fish and love to interact with people, because its been our job for 24 years.  Fly-fishing has been our main and only focus during this time and we plan on serving you and yours for at least another 24 years.

We believe in giving our best and that is why we provide you with the top guides in Western Montana as well as the highest quality custom trout flies, fly-fishing rods, reels, and clothing.

We also believe in protecting the resources and environment.  We have been recognized by a state award for the work we have done to help create wild trout fisheries in Western Montana rivers.  Andy was a leader in establishing minimum flows in the Bitterroot River in the late 70's and early 80's.  The Bitterroot River was literally transformed from a series of stagnant puddles, to the world class trout fishery that we have today.  That is why all of our trips are catch and release.  We believe that a trout is too important of a resource to be used only once.
